Our business is rooted in the beauty of home, so it only felt natural to name it after our own.

Rainsford Company founder and creative director, Andrea Doxey, and her husband, Steve, bought their first house together in 2014, located on Rainsford Road in Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood.

As they set to work updating and decorating the century-old brick semi, Andrea couldn’t find the amazing pieces for their house that she so desired—especially without the pains of cross-border shipping and high duty costs. She had a hunch there might be other Canadian interior decor lovers in the same situation, and after much encouragement from her family and a gust of moxie from within, Rainsford Company was born in 2017.

After adding a dog and two kids to their little family, the Doxeys moved to Oakville and opened their flagship shop downtown at 92A Dunn Street.
