Dining Room Artwork, Fall Collection Musings & A Podcast

No. 1 - A Committment to Dining Room Art

After nearly a year I finally made a commitment to some beautiful new artwork in my dining room! Steve wallpapered the room in a soft blue faux grasscloth about a year ago and I had been searching for the perfect piece(s) to hang ever since. I wanted to make sure that I selected something that was on the more modern/contemporary side given that the space could lean too traditional if I went with more traditional-style art. Adjacent to the dining room is our living room with the large Blue Heron print, so I wanted a strong juxtaposition to that piece. I went with our new Burnt Umber large prints in a warm caramel colour that pulls out the brown in my drapery fabric and in the Harwich Rug that sits under the table. I’m really loving how the brown warms up the space and makes it feel balanced with the traditional feel. We recently got a bunch of new framed art prints in the shop - you can shop them all here! What's next? Upholstered host chairs and a sideboard.

PS - excuse the iphone pics! ;)

No. 2 - Fall Collection Musings

I know everyone is super excited that summer is finally upon us (and I am too!), but I am already thinking ahead to our fall collection. We’ve got an amazing line coming your way that is filled with block prints, more custom upholstery, vintage finds and pottery. Here is the vibe we are going to capture with the fall collection. Are you into it!? Our fall collection launches in August.

No. 3 - A Podcast!

I was recently invited by Laura Collins and Kelly Lynn Armstrong, the design duo behind LC & Kel Interiors in Toronto to join their podcast. I'll admit it was my first podcast, so I was pretty nervous, but I'm happy to report that it wasn't a total trainwreck! haha We talked about all things related to design and the Rainsford Company origin story and plans for the future. It was a lovely chat with two inspiring women that I am excited to share with you. You can find the podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Check it out!

Here are a few of my recent favourites in the shop…

We hope to see you in the shop or chat with you online soon. Until next time! xo
