It’s my pleasure to formally welcome you to Rainsford Company; an online home goods and lifestyle destination. With a fresh and colourful perspective, we assemble an ever evolving collection of home decor and lifestyle items from our favourite designers and brands in Canada and all around the world.
Through many years of learning by osmosis from my mom, I fell in love with design. Growing up, I followed her around as she made design decisions about colour, pattern, and furniture placement – all while my dad helped make her visions come to life with a healthy dose of elbow grease. She taught me about the importance of buying quality, how to mix patterns without looking like a crazy cat lady, and most importantly, encouraged me to embrace my own personal style.
I grew up in a small town north-east of Toronto before I moved to the big city by myself after graduating from university. Fearless, motivated and dying to take a bite out of city-life I rented my first apartment and started working downtown in an office environment. Fast forward and 10 years later, my husband and I were stumped on how to find the amazing pieces for our first home that we so desired. We were dejected by the high shipping and duty costs and lack of product availability for our home in the small (but very mighty!) Canadian marketplace. It was after this reflection and through discussions with my fellow design junkie friends and family that I realized we were all in the same boat and needing a better option for home décor. After much encouragement from my better half and gust of moxie from within, Rainsford Company was born in 2017.
We take design inspiration from many sources, whether it’s interior designers, magazines, hotels, restaurants, flowers, paint colours, fashion – life through a creative lens is what we’re all about.

Whether you're in a space alone or with the people you love most, it's important that it reflects who you are and what you stand for. We have carefully selected each piece in the collection. In fact, each item must pass the RC test - “would I put this in my house?” Only then, when the answer is 100% yes, will you see it part of the Rainsford Company collection – that is our promise.
